The Department of Humanities and Basic Sciences came into existence with the establishment of SVITS IN 1998. It is a cluster of six departments viz. English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Management, Physical education and Library. It is manned by eminent teachers and efficient non-teaching staff.  It takes care of UG, PG and a good number of TASK classes. The Department of English is equipped with an ELCS lab and ACS-Labs established on 30th January, 2006.  It caters to the needs of the students in communication skills, competitive examinations and personality development. It is fully utilized by B.Tech, MCA, MBA, Senior students and the Faculty of the institute. The physics lab has the latest equipment in it. The Department is headed by Dr. Sadanala.Naga Raju Associate Professor of Mathematics and H.O.D of H&BS department.
